Sacha Lloyd Rutherford shortlisted for Energy UK Young Energy Professionals Awards

Statkraft's Sacha Lloyd Rutherford has been shortlisted for the Energy UK Young Energy Professionals Awards 2026 in the highly competitive YEP (Young Energy Professional) of the Year category.  

The annual awards celebrate outstanding young professionals from across the UK energy industry who are making a significant contribution to the sector through leadership, innovation and commitment to driving the energy transition. This particular category recognises individuals who have shown exceptional professional development, leadership potential and impact.  

In less than four years, Sacha has established herself as one of Statkraft's rising project leaders. Joining the business in 2022, new to both renewable energy and project management, she has rapidly progressed through increasingly complex and high-profile projects. Sacha took Necton Greener Grid Park through Final Investment Decision (FID) in 2025, which was Statkraft’s largest synchronous compensator investment to date at £126 million, to deliver on NESO’s stability pathfinder requirements. In 2026 Sacha achieved the APM Project Management Qualification before being promoted to Senior Project Manager just four months later. 

Through her ability to bring together diverse specialists, identify risks early and build alignment across stakeholders, Sacha has helped deliver innovative infrastructure that enables more renewable energy to connect to the grid, while setting a benchmark for project development excellence and contributing to continuous improvement across the organisation.
