Statkraft holds 2025 Transition and Trading Conference in London
The event brought together more than 200 delegates from across the industry to debate the issues, challenges, and opportunities for the energy sector
Statkraft, the UK’s leading renewables trader and a leading provider of market access and optimisation services, welcomed more than 200 figures from across the industry to its annual Energy Transition and Trading Conference, held in Central London.
This year’s event saw debates on battery storage in Great Britain, the current state of play in the hydrogen sector, managing risk, and whether the political consensus on net zero was fracturing. These were covered in panel sessions, chaired by Statkraft experts, with contributions from key figures from Statera, the CBI, Infinis, Fidra Energy, Santander, Hydrogen UK, and others.

Statkraft is the UK’s leading renewables trader, with 7.5 GW of third-party renewable and flex generation under contract, with a combination of innovative risk management products and an ‘A’ credit rating have enabled customers to underwrite billions of pounds of investment. Statkraft’s UK team has facilitated a significant amount of new-build renewable energy generation through more than 250 long-term Power Purchase Agreements.
Duncan Dale, Statkraft’s VP of Origination in the UK, said: “Now very much a firm fixture in the industry’s calendar, we’re delighted to have once again brought together some of the key players in our industry, and reflect on what has changed during the past year. Although things are more challenging, there is still a great deal of optimism too, and a variety of different views on how we get there.
“Statkraft continues to stand out, as a leading enabler of the transition, through our long term guarantees, better optimisation, innovation and customer service. These supports the renewable generation and flex assets that must be built if we are to complete the energy transition. As always, I’ve come away inspired and more determined that we continue to play a significant role, especially during this period of increasing uncertainty. I look forward to continuing the debate and discussion in the months ahead, and bringing everyone back together in 2026.”
