Berry Burn Wind Farm is located south of Forres in the Scottish Highlands, and consists of 29 wind turbines which have been operational since 2014 with a total capacity of 66.7 MW.

The wind farm consists of 29 wind turbines, which have been operational since 2014. The total installed capacity is 66.7 MW, the equivalent of powering approximately 48,000 homes with renewable energy.

Berry Burn Wind Farm provides a community benefit fund worth almost £170,000 per year. The initiatives that receive funding aim to create a vibrant local community, by focusing on education, environment, health, outdoor activities and community improvements.

Community Benefit Fund

Berry Burn Wind Farm provides a Community Benefit Fund worth almost £170,000 per annum.

The fund is available throughout the lifetime of the wind farm for projects or initiatives within the council boundaries of: Forres, East Nairnshire, Grantown on Spey, Cromdale & Advie, Speyside, Heldon, Findhorn and Kinloss, Finderne and Dyke Landward.

Projects eligible for funding will create a vibrant community, including those with a focus on:

  • Education
  • Environment
  • Health
  • Outdoor activities
  • Welfare or community improvements

Funding is also available for educational, sporting or cultural advancement for individuals within the eligible boundaries.

Since the fund was established, Statkraft has invested over £858,561 to local groups, projects and initiatives.
